Summer falls between late December and March. This hot climate can feel quite humid at times, and rain is at its most likely at this time of the year, although is not usually heavy and remains quite moderate at most, with fairly minimal and insignificant precipitation levels.

Coastal mist around Chimbote is to be expected outside of the summer season, being especially thick in both May and November, particularly at night. The spring weather arrives at the beginning of October, and this is always an appealing time to visit this part of Peru.
